ISPS CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF INEQUALITY (CSI)
This conference provides an annual gathering place for scholars who study all aspects of the criminal legal system. Formerly run as a mini-conference during APSA, past years’ conferences have brought together junior and senior scholars working both in the U.S. and comparatively. The conference is now being split out into a stand-alone conference focused on the politics of criminal justice. This year’s conference will be hosted by Yale University’s Center for the Study of Inequality (CSI) at ISPS, with future annual conferences to be hosted by teams at various universities.
This year’s conference will take place on August 4th-5th at Yale, with conference events beginning Thursday afternoon and wrapping up with lunch on Friday. We’ll have a mix of formats: some standard paper presentations, a poster session highlighting the work of up-and-coming junior scholars, and a research design panel for people to present detailed research designs and get feedback before they field their studies, along with conference meals. The generous support of Yale University’s CSI, the Institution for Social & Policy Studies, and the Center for the Study of American Politics allows us to cover travel and lodging costs for graduate student presenters as well as other presenters in need of financial support.
